Rebecca grew up in the Lake District, and studied fashion design at the University of Northumbria. She worked in the fashion industry before moving back to the Lake District in 1998.
Since then she has been producing artwork, which is exhibited at the studio. Rebecca works in mixed media and collage, and is particually interested in creating pieces which reflect her interest the work of Kurt Schwitters, Robert Rauschenberg, Henri Matisse, Mark Rothko and Joseph Cornell. Her work explores texture and colour, and is often inspired by the landscape and its constantly changing moods. References to her own family history sometimes feature in her work, connecting her sense of place and belonging in the layers of paint, pastel, ink and collage. Rebecca has exhibited throughout Cumbria and the UK and her work is always exhibited at the Studio in Grasmere. She regularly works to commission.
