In my studio, you will find various pictures, prints etc., often in different media. These might include oils, watercolour, acrylic and /or charcoal. Landscapes, horses and domestic objects form the greater part of my work. You will also find small-scale sculptures and reliefs that I make with ‘found’ objects – wire, textiles and various tactile items. I am particularly influenced by th eshapes, textures and efects made by the line of the North Pennines. I teach in Adult Education, and deliver workshops and demonstrations to art groups and conferences. Some things hold particular meanings for me – horses, landscapes and domestic objects; these form the greater part of my work. Iam particularly influenced by the shapes, textures and effects made by the lines of the North Pennines, and find that I am beginning to elaborate what I see into wider shapes and forms. I have been using horses as a basic symbol for as long as I can remember. Their shapes, moods, lines of movement and aesthetics have always fascinated me both for their beauty and their spirit. For me, they represent an archetype which echoes how we also see and experience the world.
